Officials Confirms Tornado In Laurel Area During Tuesday's Storms
LAUREL, Md. (WJZ) -- National Weather Service officials confirmed Friday that a tornado did touch down in the Laurel area during Tuesday's storms.
According to NWS, the tornado touched down in northern Laurel in Prince George's County just east of Scaggsville.
"Based on information obtained from a ground survey it was determined an EF0 tornado produced intermittent damage along a 4-mile path," NWS reports.
WJZ reported the possibility of a tornado on Wednesday after city spokeswoman Audrey Barnes tweeted pictures of a drone surveying the region.

The tornado came down around 10 p.m. and damaged a commercial building near Fort Meade Road and Route 197. It then moved northwest into downtown Laurel and cause damage to several trees and roofs.
It then moved into Howard County and crossed I-95 near Route 216.
It damaged a power substation and moved into a su division off Leishear Road before lifting near Graeloch and Helmart roads, producing a loud roar sound.
No injuries were reported. It is not known at this time how much damage costs.
