Obama Environmental Adviser Visits Maryland
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- President Barack Obama's chief environmental adviser will be in Maryland to discuss efforts to promote healthy oceans and coasts.
Nancy Sutley, chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, will be joined by other officials and Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber's companion in Annapolis for Friday's event.
The group will tour the Chesapeake Bay and highlight the administration's national ocean policy and cooperative efforts to restore regional ecosystems.
Kitzhaber's companion, Cylvia Hayes, is involved in an initiative that encourages coastal states to protect their marine legacy.
