Doug O'Neill, trainer for Nyquist is eyeing up another big win this weekend at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.
"He's like an equine version of the Orioles," says O'Neill. "He's solid, he's so professional--we're so optimistic about Saturday."
O'Neill says he's been having a wonderful week calling it a privilege to be alongside of a great horse like Nyquist.
With all eyes on the race some have been preparing for an entire year.
"It's a phenomenal week," says Karin DeFrancis , of the Maryland Jockey Club. "We spend the entire year working towards this, so it's a labor of love we're very proud of and we're honored to show it off to the world."
O'Neill says he's excited to make a stop in Baltimore!
"We love coming to Baltimore. We go to Oriole games, we go to dinners-it's just a fun city. Pimlico puts on an amazing show."
But all the fun begins on the day before the big race with the 92nd annual Running of the Black-Eyed Susan.
"Friday is a huge day, it's our second biggest day of the year," says DeFrancis. "It's a day the Maryland Jockey Club has an opportunity to do some nice philanthropic work."
