ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) -- A Bronx man has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison for conspiring to steal nearly $600,000 in gold and other valuables from South Asian families in northern Virginia last year.
Dagoberto Ramirez-Soto, 28, was sentenced Friday in federal court in Alexandria to 46 months in prison. Prosecutors say Ramirez-Soto and his wife and one other person were involved in the burglaries of more than 30 homes.
Ramirez-Soto had previously pleaded guilty in the case. His wife, Melinda Marie Soto, 34, was sentenced to three years in prison for her role in the scheme.
