NSA Leaker Edward Snowden Officially Asks For Asylum In Russia
WASHINGTON (WJZ) -- NSA leaker, Edward Snowden, officially asks for asylum in Russia.
Snowden, who at one time lived here in Maryland, admits to disclosing U.S. government surveillance documents.
For the last month, he's been in Moscow's international airport since leaving the U.S.
Russia's Federal Migration Service says it will review the asylum request within three months.
Snowden's attorney says he fears torture or death in the United States, where he's wanted for leaking the U.S. intelligence.
