North Dakota State Puts Away Towson 90-82
FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- Taylor Braun and Marcus Bjorklund each scored 28 points to propel North Dakota State past Towson 90-82 Saturday night.
The Bison (9-4) trailed briefly in the second half, but regained the lead when Lawrence Alexander drained a 3-pointer. Alexander added a layup, another 3-pointer and two free throws to spark a 19-8 run for North Dakota State, pushing the lead to 62-52 at the 10:54 mark.
Towson (7-6) used a run of their own to pull within three on a Jerrelle Benimon jumper. North Dakota State answered with Alexander hitting another 3-pointer and Bjorklund adding a pair of free throws and a jumper to make it 79-69 with 1:48 remaining.
North Dakota State shot 56 percent and committed just five turnovers. Alexander scored all 19 of his points in the second half.
Benimon led the Tigers with 29 points and 12 rebounds while Four McGlynn added 16 points.
