Train Derails In Hagerstown
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) --Norfolk Southern Corp. says a Winchester & Western Railroad train has derailed on Norfolk Southern's tracks in Hagerstown.
A (Hagerstown) Herald-Mail newspaper photo of the scene Thursday afternoon shows two boxcars lying across the tracks.
The derailment is not obstructing street traffic. The tracks run beneath an automobile overpass at West Wilson Boulevard and Virginia Ave.
A Washington County Emergency Services supervisor says emergency services were not requested.
The Winchester & Western roadmaster in Martinsburg, W.Va., didn't immediately return a telephone call from The Associated Press.
Winchester & Western is a short-line freight carrier based in Winchester, Va.
