NORAD To Conduct Training Flights Over D.C. Area
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The U.S. military is planning overnight training flights in the Washington area to test the region's aerospace defenses.
The North American Aerospace Defense Command says Wednesday's flights are scheduled to take place between midnight and 2 a.m.
NORAD says it has conducted similar exercises throughout the U.S. and Canada since the start of Operation Noble Eagle, the command's response to the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
