New Year's Eve Doughnut Drop In Hagerstown
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- New Year's Eve revelers in Hagerstown are sweetening their celebration with a doughnut drop.
The event Tuesday night in the downtown Public Square is sponsored by locally made Krumpe's Do-nuts. The doughnut drops early, at 7 p.m., to make the event family friendly.
Elsewhere in western Maryland, the Civitan Club of Frederick is dropping a giant key along downtown Carroll Creek at midnight.
The key is a symbol of "Star-Spangled Banner" author Francis Scott Key, who is buried in Frederick.
In Cumberland, the traditional ball drop will be accompanied by fireworks and live music.
