New Towson Arena Set For 2013
TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- The Towson University basketball team should have a new home in 2013.
The school hopes to break ground on a new arena in May and expects the project to be complete by spring 2013. The 5,000-seat building will serve as home for the basketball, gymnastics and volleyball teams.
Towson athletic director Mike Waddell says the arena will provide the teams with true home-court advantage.
The arena will include five private suites and 120 courtside seats.
The school on Tuesday launched a website that will chronicle the construction history of the arena: tigerarena.com.
