New Johns Hopkins Hospital Building To Open
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore is preparing to move into its new 1.6 million-square-foot building this weekend.
Patients at the old facility will begin moving into the $1.1 billion clinical towers, which features expansive adult and
pediatric emergency departments, on Sunday.
The Sheikh Zayed Cardiovascular and Critical Care Tower will house the Johns Hopkins Heart and Vascular Institute. It will also be home to advanced neurological and neurosurgical services, transplant surgery, trauma care, orthopedics, general surgery and labor and delivery.
The Charlotte R. Bloomberg Children's Center has rooms and surgical suites designed exclusively for pediatric patients. It will also feature a collection of more than 500 works of art from 70 artists across the United States.
The hospital opens to the public on Tuesday.
