Spread The Word! New Ad Lets People Know: Baltimore's The Place To Be
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- We know Baltimore is a great place to live and work, but one group wants to get that message out to everyone.
Linh Bui shows us the brand new television ad promoting Charm City.
Upbeat music. Shots of the city. The Downtown Partnership of Baltimore is behind this latest push.
"Got to be out there promoting downtown because people don't realize the great things that are happening here," said Kirby Fowler, President, Downtown Partnership of Baltimore.
The goal? Draw more people and businesses downtown.
"These are the best and the brightest who want to work in inspiring locations," the ad said.
The ad features locations like Transamerica, PNC Bank, Mercy Hospital---while highlighting quality of life---the Pratt Street Farmers' Market, restaurants, Camden Yards.
"Working, living, experiencing the city by going to restaurants or concerts or just enjoying our public spaces. Those are all part of the experience of being an employee here, as well as a resident," Fowler said.
"At the end of the day, everyone wants to feel as passionate about where they are as about what they do," the ad said.
There are also plans to show the ad outside of Baltimore, first in Washington D.C., then in Virginia and Philadelphia.
More than 100,000 people work downtown, making it the 15th largest employment center in the U.S. And with some 40,000 residents, it's the eighth most populated downtown.
"Once you're down here, it's very walkable. And everything is within your fingertips," said Sarah Maize.
"I work downtown because it's lively, there's always something to do," said Christopher Jackson.
It's the first of possibly many TV ads getting the word out about downtown Baltimore.
