Nephew Gets Life In Prison In Md. Murder Plot
TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- A Baltimore County man has been sentenced to life in prison for his role in a murder-for-hire plot that led to the shooting death of his uncle at his Towson gas station.
Seamus Coyle was sentenced Monday to life in prison for first-degree murder in the death of William "Ray" Porter in 2010. Coyle also received a concurrent 25-year sentence for conspiracy and five years without parole for a weapons offense.
Prosecutors say Coyle conspired with his aunt, Karla Porter, to have her husband killed by Coyle's best friend, Walter Bishop Jr., at Porter's Hess gas station.
Bishop was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to two consecutive life sentences plus 20 years. Karla Porter's trial is scheduled for March.
