NC A&T Nips Maryland-Eastern Shore 46-44
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) -- Lamont Middleton scored 17 points to lead North Carolina A&T to a 46-44 victory over Maryland-Eastern Shore Saturday in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action.
The Aggies (11-11, 4-3), who won despite going 3 for 17 on 3-pointers, led 38-22 midway through the second half. But Maryland-Eastern Shore (1-16, 1-5) rallied behind Troy Snyder, the only Hawk in double figures with 17 points.
Snyder sank two 3-pointers and a free throw, then later stuck a jumper to tie it at 39-39. But Jeremy Underwood scored five straight points for North Carolina A&T to put the Aggies up 44-41.
Kevin Mays hit a foul shot for the Hawks, then Olatunji Kosile's dunk tied it at 44-44 with 56 seconds remaining.
Austin Witter made one of two free throws for A&T. After Dominique Cowell missed a 3-point shot for the Hawks, Middleton's late free throw ended it.
