NBA Draft Review With Pete Strickland
Pete Strickland joined the Vinny and Rob Show to talk about the NBA Draft and some of the surprises from the night.
A pick in last night's NBA Draft that many people are talking about is DeAngelo Russell, who was selected 2nd overall to the Lakers. Pete Strickland was "stunned" that the Lakers took Russell instead of Jahlil Okafor. He thinks Russell could be a good player in the NBA but was surprised the Lakers didn't take Okafor.
According to Strickland, he believes the player with the biggest bust potential of the top ten picks could be Willie Cauley-Stein. He is surprised Sacramento took him 6th and notes that he does not think there is enough overall skill to pick him that high.
The Wizards picked up Kelly Oubre in the first round and Strickland says he is definitely young, had average numbers last year, but can play. He says it is going to take time and that Oubre has "more potential than production right now." The Wizards also picked up Aaron White, who Strickland believes is very skilled and versatile and could have an impact right away.
