Navy Midshipmen to play Oklahoma in Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl
The Navy Midshipmen will play Oklahoma on December 27 in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, Texas. The game will kick off at noon and will be televised on ESPN.
Navy (8-3) is playing in its first bowl game since 2019. That year, the Midshipmen lost to Kansas State, 20-17, in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
The Midshipmen, from the American Athletic Conference, are led by quarterback Blake Horvath, who has 1,154 passing yards and 895 rushing yards with a combined 24 touchdowns. Alex Tecza has 501 rushing yards with seven touchdowns, while Eli Heidenreich has 597 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
Oklahoma (6-6), from the SEC, had a down year compared to its standards. Last year, the Sooners finished 10-3 after losing to Arizona in the Valero Alamo Bowl.
Quarterback Jackson Arnold has thrown for 1,421 yards with 12 touchdowns and three interceptions but he has been sacked 34 times. Jovantae Barnes has a team-best 577 rushing yards.
Navy hosts No. 22 Army at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland.
