Navy Defeats Maryland-Eastern Shore 67-59
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Kendall Knorr scored a career-high 17 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead Navy to a 67-59 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore Tuesday night.
Navy (4-3) led most of the game but could never pull away from Maryland-Eastern Shore (2-3). The Hawks closed to within 60-57 when Hakeem Baxter hit a jumper with 1:02 remaining in the game. Knorr answered with a 3-point shot to extend the lead to 63-57. Knorr then made four consecutive free throws on two trips to the line to seal the victory.
There were nine lead changes in the first half, but Navy established control in the second and led by nine at the 6:31 mark.
Tilman Dunbar had 15 points and Worth Smith added 14 for Navy.
Francis Ezeiru had a double-double for the Hawks as he had 10 points and 10 rebounds. KyRee Jones had 16 points and Baxter contributed 15.
