Naval Academy Midshipman Kisses Katy Perry
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) -- A Naval Academy midshipman makes national headlines for a simple kiss! That's because that kiss was shared with pop star Katy Perry.
Kai Jackson has more on that young man's lucky moment in Annapolis.
Midshipman Nicholas "Tanner" Beasley got more than he'd hoped for when Perry performed at the Naval Academy Friday night.
"I'm a little older than you, but I can be your Mrs. Robinson," Perry said to Beasley.
Perry pulled him up on stage and kissed him right on the lips! Video of the kiss has been posted on YouTube and has already gotten 77,000 hits.
Midshipman Beasley got a chance to "kiss and tell" on Entertainment Tonight.
The pop star was reportedly sick with a cold in the days before her Annapolis concert. She asked Beasley if he was all right with that, but he didn't seem to mind at all.
"She was a great kisser and I only hope it will happen again sometime," Beasley said.
Katy said that the kiss was meant to recreate the iconic photo of a World War II sailor kissing his sweetheart.
