National Weather Service: Tornado Touched Down In Anne Arundel Co.

CROFTON, Md. (WJZ) -- The National Weather Service confirms a tornado tore through Anne Arundel County in early April.

The storm happened southeast of Crofton. Officials say the damage was caused by a brief tornado on April 5 around 4:55 a.m. Officials say the tornado was 50 yards wide and traveled for 1.3 miles.  Winds were as high as 60 miles per hour.

Minor tree damage was reported, but no one was hurt.
