Pittsburgh Kids Win National Marbles Tournament
WILDWOOD, N.J. (AP) -- Two mibsters from Pittsburgh have taken top honors at the 88th National Marbles Tournament in Wildwood, N.J.
Bailey Narr, 11, credited her coaches with preparing her to win Thursday's final. Brandon Matchett won the boys title.
Forty-seven boys and girls began the competition on Monday. The contestants were from West Virginia, Tennessee, Colorado, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
The winners will receive $2,000 scholarships and trophies.
"Mibster" is the term for a marbles contestant. The goal of the game is to knock seven marbles out of a circle using a shooter marble.
