Multiple Agencies Work To Contain Downtown Oil Spill
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Multiple agencies spent the day working to contain a heating oil spill downtown.
Baltimore City Fire officials, the Maryland Department of the Environment and the U. S. Coast Guard were all on the scene of the spill at S. President and E. Pratt streets.
The hazmat incident began around 8 a.m. on Saturday morning when the oil was discovered in area waters.
The source of the home heating oil is still under investigation.
Special booms were used to contain the spill, and prevent it from spreading further.
