Football Player Shot, 1 In Custody After Shooting At Morgan State
BALTIMORE (WJZ)—A Morgan State football player was shot on campus. Now a person of interest is in police custody. It's the second campus shooting this semester, and that has students worried about safety.

We're told the victim, a football player, is expected to survive. Police have taken several witnesses and someone they're calling a "person of interest" into custody.
There was chaos as gunfire rang out on the Morgan State campus Friday.
"All of a sudden everyone just comes running and there was gunshots," said Morgan State freshman David Taylor.
A football player was shot outside a dorm.
Sky Eye Chopper 13 was over the scene as police took someone into custody.
"What we know early on in the case so far is that it's a type of dispute between two individuals," said Anthony Guglielmi, Baltimore City police spokesman.
Moments before the gunshots, students say they saw a large group moving toward the dorms.
"It was a lot of football players. So, you know when you see a lot of big people running you already know something's about to happen," said Marcus Johnson, student.
Seconds later shots were fired.
Police recovered a semi-automatic handgun at the scene.
This is the second shooting on the Morgan State campus just this year. In September, the cousin of a football player was shot inside the student center.
Kelly Lamont Ellerbee was arrested for shooting of Michael Antonio Campbell, 19, in the torso.
Two shootings in one semester have some students on edge.
"It actually makes me very uncomfortable because I hang around this area a lot," said Morgan State senior Travis Clement.
"This is a college campus, and this is not what my mother sent me here for," said freshman Najee Douglas.
University officials say security has been increased.
"We've stepped up police presence around campus, especially in the vicinity of living quarters," said Jarrett Carter Sr., university spokesman.
Some worry with this latest spate of violence, it's not enough.
Morgan State officials tell WJZ the person of interest in police custody is not a student at the university.
At least one dorm was evacuated during the incident. The university was placed on lockdown Friday afternoon.
