More Than 5 Pounds Of Cocaine Found In Candy & Soup Packages At Dulles Airport
WASHINGTON (WJZ) -- Customs and Border Protection officers uncover another attempt to smuggle drugs through Dulles International Airport.
It's the third time in a week agents found drugs inside items a business courier was bringing to the U.S. from Guatemala.
On Saturday, narcotics dogs detected drugs inside two bricks labeled as molasses-like candy and in five packages of soup. Officers uncovered more than five pounds of cocaine inside.
After interviews, the man was returned to Guatemala. He's banned from the U.S. for five years.
Last weekend, Customs and Border Protection officers found about 13 pounds cocaine inside the false second lining of plastic jars two couriers from Guatemala brought to Dulles.
