Montgomery Police To Host Police Adventure Camp
SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) -- Police in Montgomery County are holding their annual police adventure camp.
The fourth-annual camp will be held at Viers Mill Elementary School in Silver Spring and is for incoming fourth, fifth and sixth-graders. It starts Friday and then continues Monday through Thursday.
Besides sports, crafts and K-9, SWAT and fire/rescue demonstrations, campers will also learn skills on decision-making and resisting peer pressure and avoiding drugs and alcohol.
The county police department partners with the county public school system and Linkages to Learning, which serves at risk-children and their families, in hosting the camp.
