Montgomery County Woman Dies After Being Struck By Metro Train
SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) -- Transit officials say a woman has been struck by a train at the Silver Spring Metro station and has died.
Metro spokeswoman Caroline Laurin says it appears to be intentional, but she says the circumstances of the incident are still unclear.
Officials say the woman was rescued and taken to a hospital Sunday but has since died. It happened about 2 p.m., and the Silver Spring station was temporarily closed.
Trains were single-tracking on the red line between Silver Spring and Forest Glen for part of the afternoon.
