Montgomery County Police Investigate 2 Bank Robberies
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County police are investigating robberies this week of banks in Rockville and Bethesda.
Both targets were PNC Bank branches, and authorities believe the same person may be responsible for both robberies.
Police say the first occurred Monday at a bank inside a Giant Foods store in Rockville, where a man handed a teller a note demanding money and implied that he had a gun.
The second happened Wednesday at a PNC Bank on Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda, when a man also demanded money from a teller and left with cash.
Police say the suspect in both robberies was wearing a dark hat and a red jacket and was about the same age and height.
