Montgomery Council To Take Up Teen Curfew Proposal
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A hearing is set in Montgomery County to discuss a proposed curfew for teenagers.
The council will take up the proposed curfew at a hearing Tuesday.
The curfew, suggested by County Executive Isiah Leggett, would start at 11 p.m. on weekdays and 12:01 a.m. on weekends and apply to teenagers younger than 18.
Prince George's County and the District of Columbia already have similar curfews.
A Facebook page denouncing the proposal has already attracted thousands of supporters, and the Maryland affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union will be on hand to testify against the proposal.
The hearing starts at 1:30 p.m. in the council hearing room in Rockville.
