Mistrial During Murder Trial Jury Selection
WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) -- A judge declared a mistrial during jury selection in the case of a man and his two sons, who are accused of killing a man outside a bar.
Carroll County Circuit Judge Michael Galloway granted the defense's motion for a mistrial Monday. A new panel will be summoned this week.
The Carroll County Times reports that Galloway declared the mistrial after a juror said he could not be impartial because he was a chaplain at the detention center where the defendants are held.
John Robey, 53, and his sons, 21-year-old Jonathan Robey and 23-year-old Thomas Robey, are charged with second-degree murder in the death of Craig Myers of Rocky Ridge.
Myers, 26, was found unresponsive outside the Crossroads Inn in Keymar, on Aug. 28, 2011. He died days later.
