Minor Flooding Of Monocacy River In Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- The National Weather Service is reporting minor flooding along the Monocacay River near Frederick.

The agency said Monday that the river was at 15.4 feet, just over the 15-foot flood stage, at 8:30 a.m.

The weather service predicts the river will crest at 15.6 feet at 1 p.m., and recede to below flood stage by 4 p.m.

The weather service says the river water could inundate a sewage treatment plant.

The rising water follows heavy rain and up to four inches of snow since Sunday.
