Mike Preston Grades The Ravens 22-20 Loss At Home To The Jaguars
Mike Preston covers the Ravens and writes a column for the Baltimore Sun sports section.
Mike joined the rest of the Monday Morning Quarterback crew to give out his grades for the Ravens 22-20 loss to the Jaguars.
Mike started off with the Ravens offense giving Joe Flacco a grade of C- saying "as an eight-year veteran, he should have better ball security." Preston then moved on to the running backs giving them a grade of C- saying "the Ravens finished with 89 rushing yards on 21 carries, but they never controlled the pace of the game." Mike gave the receivers a grade of C+ saying "this group was productive, but didn't get Jacksonville to back off the line of scrimmage." Mike finished up the offense by giving the offensive line a grade of C+ saying "this group was put in an awkward position because the Ravens threw so much in the first half."
As for the Defense Mike started by giving the defensive line a grade of B- saying "the Ravens were tough up front, especially tackle Brandon Williams." Mike gave the linebackers a grade of B saying "this was the unit's best game in recent weeks." Mike finished up giving the secondary a grade of C saying "overall, a solid game, but there should have been three interceptions, one late that should have sealed the win for the Ravens."
Mike finished up by giving the special teams a grade of C- and the coaching staff a grade of C- saying "defensive coordinator Dean Pees is trying everything...Marc Trestman's play-calling Sunday was suspect and the Ravens can't seem to find the third-down marker in passing situations."
