Mike Preston Grades The Ravens 20-17 Win Over The Steelers
Mike Preston covers the Ravens and writes a column for the Baltimore Sun sports section.
Mike joined the MMQB crew to give out his grades for the Ravens win over the Steelers.
Mike started off by talking about the performance of Ryan Mallett giving him a grade of A- saying "though he had little time to learn the offense, Ryan Mallett appeared in total control." As for the running backs Mike gave them a grade of B+ saying "Buck Allen showed little difficulty in shaking off being benched last week...backup Terrance West had 42 yards on 13 carries and it appears the Ravens lose little when he fills in." The receivers were graded the lowest on offense getting a C+ and the offensive line received a grade of B.
On the defensive side of the ball Mike started by giving the defensive line a grade of C+ saying "the Ravens gave up too much yardage early in the game and Timmy Jernigan and Brent Urban couldn't get off blocks." The linebackers received a grade of B and the secondary a grade of A- with Mike saying "for this group to slow down the Steelers is a near-miracle...the Ravens did a good job of tackling and were able to cover Pittsburgh's quick screens."
Mike finished up by giving the special teams a grade of B and the coaching staff a grade of A-.
