Metro Sets Up Website To Report Sexual Harassment
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says it has created an email address and website for riders to report sexual harassment.
The transit agency's general manager, Richard Sarles, said Thursday that Metro is also working on the problem with the group Collective Action for Safe Spaces. Holly Kearl, a group board member, says her organization hears from Metro riders who say they have been victims of sexual comments and groping.
The email address is harassment@wmata.com, and the website is: www.wmata.com/harassment.
Sarles says he has also directed the Metro Transit Police Department to include data on sexual harassment complaints in its crime reports.
