Metro Service Restored After Minor Derailment
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro says service has returned to normal on the orange and blue lines following a minor derailment near the Rosslyn Station in northern Virginia.
The transit agency says one set of wheels on a blue line train traveling to Franconia-Springfield came off the tracks about 7 p.m. Tuesday. Metro says crews worked through the night to re-rail the wheels and test track and switch equipment in the area.
There were no injuries reported.
Metro says there were about 1,000 passengers on the train at the time.
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
