Metro Plans Weekend Work On Red And Orange Line
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro is planning to use the Columbus Day holiday for an extra day of track maintenance.
Metro says that starting Friday evening and continuing through Monday, it will do track work on the red and orange lines.
On the red line, trains will share a single track between Judiciary Square and Fort Totten. As a result, customers traveling on the eastern part of the line should add 20 minutes to their travel time. Customers traveling the western part of the line and downtown can expect 10 additional minutes of travel time.
Metro says orange line trains will share a single track between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly. Customers traveling to and from stations east of Stadium-Armory should allow 15 minutes of additional travel time.
