Metro Doing Work Over Long Holiday Weekend
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro is using the long holiday weekend to make improvements to the rail system.
Metro says that beginning Friday at 10 p.m. and continuing through Monday, passengers traveling on the green line between Greenbelt and Fort Totten will have to take free shuttle buses to travel between those stations.
In addition, on the red line, trains will share a single track between Forest Glen and Takoma. Metro says customers should allow 10 minutes of extra travel time.
The transit agency has no scheduled work on the blue, orange or yellow lines.
