Metro Annual Report Says Rapes, Sexual Assaults Up
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Metro's annual crime report says seven rapes and sexual assaults occurred in the Metro system in 2010, more than all the cases in the previous five years combined.
Metro's annual crime report is slated to be presented to the agency's board of directors on Thursday.
The report shows more bikes were stolen last year compared with 2009, 280 compared with 207, but fewer cars were taken. Riders were also more likely to have their belongings stolen, with 1,007 robbery investigations in 2010, up from 894 in 2009.
