Md. Woman Charged With Abusing Elderly Woman
SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- A Salisbury woman has been charged with abusing an elderly woman in her care.
The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says 53-year-old Neosha Lynn Chandler was arrested last week and charged with abuse of a vulnerable adult by custodian, abuse of a vulnerable adult by a family member and reckless endangerment.
Authorities say the investigation began last month when an elderly woman who lives with Chandler was taken to a hospital and authorities learned that the woman lived in squalid conditions. Department of Social Services officials visited the home to check on the woman, but investigators learned that Chandler refused to let them enter.
Chandler is being held in the Wicomico County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
