Md. Teen Pleads Guilty To Murder In Child's Death
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Officials say an Annapolis teenager charged as an adult in the death of a 2-year-old girl last year has pleaded guilty to murder.
Kristin Fleckenstein, a spokeswoman for the Anne Arundel County State's Attorney's office, says 18-year-old Timothy Darnell Height received a 30-year sentence with all but 15 years suspended, followed by five years of probation.
Officers found the toddler dead in her bed in the Bywater neighborhood in June 2010. Autopsy results show that she had
suffered several injuries.
Height had a relationship with the toddler's mother.
As part of his plea Wednesday, Heights is also prevented from contacting Smith and her children, including a child whom Height fathered.
