Md. State Park Closed After Ordnance Is Found
SCOTLAND, Md. (AP) -- Authorities have closed Newtowne Neck State Park in Scotland after military ordnance was found along the shoreline.
The Maryland Park Service closed the park Friday after ordnance was found over the past several days.
Fire officials and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will check the shoreline for ordnance.
Officials remind residents that if suspicious objects are found, people should carefully leave the area and notify police.
