Md. Prison Agency Reports Inmate Escape
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police are looking for an inmate who walked away from a prison near Hagerstown.
Corrections officials say Jerome Taylor, 36, walked away from a minimum-security job on the grounds of a Hagerstown correctional complex about 1:30 p.m. Monday. The agency says it believes Taylor is heading for Baltimore, his hometown.
Taylor was sentenced in March to five years in prison for firearm offenses and lying to police. Taylor's criminal record also includes car theft and drug offenses.
