Md. Movie Theaters Increase Security, Police Presence After Colorado Shooting
BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- The tragedy at a Colorado movie theater has led to increased security at theaters around the country, including here in Baltimore.

While moviegoers can expect to see more police at their local theater, at some venues, the costumes that people usually wear on opening weekend will not be allowed.
As Aurora, Colo. continues to try to come to grips with a horrific tragedy, law enforcement agencies are upping their presence at local theaters.
"I get it. It makes sense to me. There's a lot of real weird people in the world," moviegoer Michael McIntyre said.
Both Baltimore City and Baltimore County police say people heading to the movies should expect to see more officers on patrol.
"Just a precaution and extra resources to make sure people are safe, and have an enjoyable time," Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesman for the Baltimore City Police Department, said.
And while police don't know of any threat to local theaters, moviegoers were still happy to see the extra security.
"Whether it happens for the first time or happens because of a copy-cat action, you always need to be vigilant," moviegoer Matt Porter said.
Security experts Rob Weinhold says consumers can also do their part.
"If they feel in their gut or observe something a little unusual, they should notify management, notify authorities immediately. Because the little bit of information they have may save lives," he explained.
Theaters are also taking major steps to make sure people feel secure.
AMC Theaters released a statement saying: "We will not allow any guests into our theaters in costumes that make other guests feel uncomfortable and we will not permit face-covering masks or fake weapons inside our buildings."
"That's the best move they could make right now. People do want to go out and enjoy themselves and be safe," moviegoer Aisha Taylor said.
In addition to AMC, several other theaters were said to be doing bag checks and increasing their security procedures.
