Md. Panel Starts Work On Statewide Trails Plan
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A volunteer committee is beginning a statewide assessment of Maryland's public trails.
The Department of Natural Resources Trails Committee holds its first meeting Thursday in Annapolis.
The 15-member panel includes representatives from trail user groups around the state.
Its mission is to recommend investments, goals and objectives for trails open to both motorized and non-motorized recreation.
State officials will consider the recommendations as they compile a five-year land preservation and recreation plan due in 2014.
