Md. Man Sentenced In Sex Assault At Skating Rink
TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- A Maryland man has been sentenced to prison in the sexual assault of a girl inside a roller rink.
Kadeem R. Santiful apologized in Baltimore County Circuit Court on Friday as he was given 20 years, with 10 suspended. He'll get credit for 17 months already served.
Santiful, 19, pleaded guilty last May to second-degree sex offense in the 2010 assault at Skateworks, a Woodlawn roller rink.
He's one of three defendants. Court records show one defendant has entered an Alford plea -- in which a defendant doesn't admit guilt but acknowledges sufficient evidence for a conviction -- to second-degree sex assault after a jury either acquitted him or deadlocked on more serious counts.
The Baltimore Sun reports the girl says she's been harassed and taunted by classmates.
