Md. Man Sentenced In Identity Theft Scheme
BALTIMORE (AP) -- A Woodlawn man has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for an identity theft scheme that affected more than 250 people.
Derrick Hill, 53, was also ordered to pay more than $190,000 in restitution at sentencing Monday.
According to his plea agreement, Hill received stolen checks that had been designated for destruction by banks. Prosecutors say Hill used identifying information obtained by his conspirators to create counterfeit checks, ID cards and driver's licenses.
