Fort Washington Man Sentenced In Fatal Hit-And-Run
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Prosecutors say a Maryland man has been sentenced to a year in prison for hitting and killing a pedestrian and leaving the scene.
Michael Glover, 47, of Fort Washington was sentenced Friday. He pleaded guilty to negligent homicide in the death of Duffie Claridy.
According to the government's evidence, Glover was driving a Mercedes Benz early on Nov. 8, 2010. He was traveling on South Capitol Street when he struck Claridy, who was walking in the road. Claridy, 71, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Prosecutors say after impact, Glover drove home. Debris at the crash scene included a Mercedes emblem.
After media reports, police received information about Glover's vehicle and found the car parked in his driveway.
