Md. Man Sentenced For 2 Assaults In D.C. Last Year
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Maryland man has been sentenced to nearly 25 years in prison for separate attacks last summer in the Adams Morgan and Capitol Hill neighborhoods of Washington.
Tommy Branch, of Fort Washington, was sentenced Tuesday in D.C. Superior Court to 24 1/2 years behind bars.
Branch was convicted of conspiracy, aggravated assault and other crimes in the brutal beating last August of Thomas "T.C." Maslin, who was robbed of his phone and other possessions and struck in the head with a baseball bat while returning to his home on Capitol Hill. He was found unconscious on the front porch of a row house in the neighborhood.
Prosecutors say Branch and two other men assaulted a man in Adams Morgan several hours later.
