Md. Man Reports Killing His Wife To Police
SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County police say a man has been charged after calling authorities to say he had killed his wife.
Authorities say Bernardo Paz Flores-Olvera, 32, called 911 from a pay phone about midnight Tuesday and said he had killed his wife about two hours earlier. The man told police his wife was in their apartment in the 1000-block of Quebec Terrace.
Police say they found Elizabeth Velez Vasquez, 33, in a bedroom of the apartment. The woman had obvious trauma to her body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Flores-Olvera was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder. Police say he stabbed with wife with a knife and another sharp instrument. He is being held without bail.
