Md. Man On Trial In West Virginia Slaying
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) -- A Maryland man is on trial in West Virginia on charges of killing a woman during a robbery.
Media outlets report that the trial of 35-year-old Roy L. Wisotzkey of Hagerstown, Md., resumes Tuesday in Berkeley County Circuit Court.
Wisotzkey is charged with murder, first-degree robbery and several related counts.
A co-defendant, 34-year-old Joshua L. Stitley of Hancock, Md., is scheduled to be tried Oct. 22 on similar charges.
The charges stem from the slaying of Stitley's mother, 57-year-old Vickie Clem of Falling Waters. Clem was beaten to death with a baseball bat.
Prosecutors say the men broke into Clem's home on May 26, 2011, to rob her and her husband, Jack W. Clem.
