Md. Man Indicted In Cecil County Hospital Attack
ELKTON, Md. (AP) -- A Cecil County man accused of attacking staff members at an Elkton hospital last month has been indicted on attempted murder charges.
Felix Monroy, who was arrested in April following reports of a disturbance at Union Hospital, was arraigned Wednesday in Cecil County Circuit Court.
Police say Monroy, who was a patient at the hospital, beat a nurse with a plastic pitcher early on April 17 inside the fourth-floor psychiatric ward, then attacked several other employees and set a small fire inside a bathroom. The hospital workers suffered minor injuries.
The indictment also charges Monroy, who lives in Warwick, with arson, assault, reckless endangerment, malicious destruction of property and malicious burning.
It wasn't immediately clear who Monroy's lawyer is.
