Md. Man Gets Life Sentence For Fatal Home Invasion
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A Prince George's County man convicted of killing a man during a robbery has been sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years.
John Haston, of Clinton, was sentenced Friday in Prince George's County Circuit Court. He was convicted last month of first-degree murder and other crimes.
Prosecutors say Haston and a co-defendant killed David Williams in his home last summer and robbed him of a laptop, jewelry, electronic equipment and about $1,200 in cash. The co-defendant, Craig Brooks, came to Williams' home the day before, presenting him as a Pepco employee who was there to help him with an electrical problem.
Brooks earlier pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 50 years in prison.
